Abstract:
Provided are a communication system that includes a relay device whereby the configuration of the control device for controlling a machine on the basis of relayed information can be simplified, reducing the costs associated with the system as a whole; said relay device; and a method for controlling a power supply. A GW device (3) provided with first to fourth communication parts connected to individual communication buses (11-14) to which ECUs (21-25) are connected receives messages transmitted from the ECUs (21-25), and extracts from the received messages signal information (S1-S5) contained in the messages and relating to a machine inside a vehicle. The extracted signal information (S1-S5) is compiled to create a single message (ID4), and the created message is sent to a power supply control device (4). On the basis of signal information contained in the message received from the GW device (3), the power supply control device (4) performs on/off control of the ECUs (24, 25) and loads (53-55).
