(EN) Glycosylated antitumor ether lipids (GAELs) are effective cytotoxic agents against cancer stem cells. Furthermore, combining GAELs which kill cells by a caspase-independent pathway with agents that kill cells by apoptosis will lead to elimination of the differentiated tumor cells and the undifferentiated cancer stem cells leading to an elimination of the tumor and preventing recurrence.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des éther-lipides anticancéreux glycosylés (GAEL) qui sont des agents cytotoxiques efficaces contre des cellules souches cancéreuses. De plus, la combinaison de GAEL qui tuent des cellules par une voie indépendante de la caspase avec des agents qui tuent les cellules par apoptose conduit à l'élimination des cellules tumorales différenciées et des cellules souches cancéreuses indifférenciées conduisant à une élimination de la tumeur et la prévention des récurrences.
