Abstract:
(EN) According to embodiments of the present invention, a passive counter flow free microfluidic device for sorting a sample of flagellated cells is provided. The passive counter flow free microfluidic device includes an input reservoir configured to receive the sample of flagellated cells, an output reservoir positioned downstream of the input reservoir, the output reservoir configured to collect the flagellated cells that are sorted, and a plurality of microchannel sections arranged sequentially and in fluid communication with each other between the input reservoir and the output reservoir, and designed to define a closed microchannel system between the input reservoir and the output reservoir, wherein each microchannel section comprises at least one microchannel, wherein an inlet of the microchannel of a first microchannel section of the plurality of microchannel sections is connected to the input reservoir, wherein an outlet of the microchannel of a last microchannel section of the plurality of microchannel sections is connected to the output reservoir, and wherein, for each microchannel section, the total volume of the microchannels of one microchannel section of the plurality of microchannel sections is larger than that of the respective in said downstream direction subsequent microchannel section of the plurality of microchannel sections for sorting the flagellated cells when the flagellated cells move from the input reservoir to the output reservoir.
(FR) Selon des modes de réalisation, la présente invention se rapporte à un dispositif microfluidique passif sans contre-courant destiné à trier un échantillon de cellules flagellées. Le dispositif microfluidique passif sans contre-courant comprend un réservoir d'entrée configuré pour recevoir l'échantillon de cellules flagellées, un réservoir de sortie positionné en aval du réservoir d'entrée, le réservoir de sortie étant configuré pour collecter les cellules flagellées qui sont triées, et une pluralité de sections à micro-canaux agencées séquentiellement et en communication fluidique les unes avec les autres entre le réservoir d'entrée et le réservoir de sortie, et conçues pour délimiter un système de micro-canaux fermé entre le réservoir d'entrée et le réservoir de sortie. Chaque section à micro-canaux comprend au moins un micro-canal, une entrée du micro-canal d'une première section à micro-canaux de la pluralité de sections à micro-canaux est raccordée au réservoir d'entrée, une sortie du micro-canal d'une dernière section à micro-canaux de la pluralité de sections à micro-canaux est raccordée au réservoir de sortie, et, pour chaque section à micro-canaux, le volume total des micro-canaux d'une section à micro-canaux de la pluralité de sections à micro-canaux est supérieur à celui de la section à micro-canaux respective suivante, dans la direction aval, de la pluralité de sections à micro-canaux pour trier les cellules flagellées lorsque les cellules flagellées se déplacent du réservoir d'entrée au réservoir de sortie.
