Title: RING-SHAPED SPRING AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Abstract:
Provided are: a low cost ring-shaped spring having high strength; and a method for manufacturing the ring-shaped spring. A ring-shaped spring is obtained by sequentially performing, for example, material preparation (Step S1), bending and forming (Step S2), welding (Step S3), and disc forming (Step S4). The ring-shaped spring is formed in an endless shape by welding the opposite ends of a material together and has: a weld metal section formed at the boundary between the opposite ends of the material; and a section thermally affected by the welding, the section being formed around the weld metal section and being heated by the welding. The tensile strength of the ring-shaped spring is 1000 MPa or higher. The ring-shaped spring has sufficient tensile strength when used, for example, as a disc spring and a wavy spring, and this eliminates the need for the ring-shaped spring to be subjected to quenching and tempering, reducing the manufacturing cost. Also, the dimensional accuracy of the product is increased because the deformation of the product due to the quenching and tempering is prevented.
