Abstract:

(EN)There is disclosed a roof vent having rain control means to reduce rain water splashing into the opening in a roof vent. The baffle has a number of ridges or channels that direct rain water into a number of droplet pathways. The falling water creates a rain curtain that deflects rain water that enters into the roof vent from travelling into interior of the building. At the base of the roof vent is one or more splash deflectors that changes the angle of water impacting the base of the roof vent to limit the amount of deflected water that can enter into the opening in the roof vent. The rain curtain and one or more splash deflector may act in concert to further divert rainwater.
(FR)L'invention concerne un évent de toit comprenant un moyen de commande de pluie permettant de diminuer la quantité d'eau de pluie qui pénètre par éclaboussure dans l'évent de toit. La chicane comprend un certain nombre d'arêtes ou de canaux qui dirigent l'eau de pluie dans un certain nombre de trajets de gouttelettes. L'eau qui tombe crée un rideau de pluie qui dévie l'eau de pluie entrant dans l'évent de toit et l'empêche de se propager jusqu'à l'intérieur du bâtiment. A la base de l'évent de toit se trouvent un ou plusieurs déflecteurs d'éclaboussures qui changent l'angle de l'eau entrant en contact avec la base de l'évent de toit afin de limiter la quantité d'eau déviée pouvant entrer dans l'ouverture de l'évent de toit. Le rideau de pluie et un ou plusieurs déflecteurs d'éclaboussures peuvent agir de concert afin de mieux dévier l'eau de pluie.
