Abstract
(EN) A method and apparatus of predictive Intra coding of a block are disclosed. In one embodiment according to the present invention, a same set of Intra prediction modes is used for PUs corresponding to different block sizes including a 4x4 block size and at least one other block size. In another embodiment of the present invention, the number of Intra prediction modes in the set is reduced by removing at least one Intra prediction mode from the set. For example, when the set of 35 Intra prediction modes is used, intraPredMode corresponding to 18, 34, or 26 can be removed. The current Intra prediction mode can be coded predictively based on said one or more neighboring PUs, wherein the current Intra prediction mode is predicted using 2 most probable modes (MPMs) and 32 remaining modes. The 32 remaining modes can be represented using 5-bit fixed length codes.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de codage intra prédictif d'un bloc. Dans un mode de réalisation selon la présente invention, un même ensemble de modes d'intra-prédiction est utilisé pour des PU correspondant à différentes tailles de blocs comprenant une taille de bloc de 4x4 et au moins une autre taille de bloc. Dans un autre mode de réalisation de la présente invention, le nombre de modes d'intra-prédiction dans l'ensemble est réduit par l'élimination d'au moins un mode d'intra-prédiction de l'ensemble. Par exemple, lorsque l'ensemble de 35 modes d'intra-prédiction est utilisé, un IntraPredMode correspondant à 18, 34, ou 26 peut être éliminé. Le mode d'intra-prédiction en cours peut être codé de façon prédictive sur la base desdites une ou plusieurs PU voisines, le mode d'intra-prédiction en cours étant prédit à l'aide de 2 modes les plus probables (MPM) et des 32 modes restants. Les 32 modes restants peuvent être représentés à l'aide de codes à longueur fixe de 5-bits.
