Abstract
(EN) A boundary layer carbonation process for producing sodium bicarbonate crystals having specific surface area in the range 0.4 m2/g to 2.5 m2/g from Trona, wherein in one embodiment the process comprises the steps of: providing Trona particles having a particle size range of -4 +120 mesh; pre-wetting the Trona particles with water to provide a plurality of pre-wetted Trona particles each having a liquid water solution boundary layer deposited thereon; and carbonating the pre-wetted Trona particles across the water boundary layer to provide a product comprising sodium bicarbonate crystals.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de carbonatation de couche limite pour produire des cristaux de bicarbonate de sodium ayant une surface spécifique se situant dans la plage de 0,4 m2/g à 2,5 m2/g à partir de Trona, où, dans un mode de réalisation, le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à : se procurer des particules de Trona ayant une plage de dimension de particules de maille -4 +120; pré-mouiller les particules de Trona avec de l'eau pour obtenir une pluralité de particules de Trona pré-mouillées ayant chacune une couche de limite de solution d'eau liquide déposée sur celles-ci; et carbonater les particules de Trona pré-mouillées à travers la couche limite d'eau pour obtenir un produit comprenant des cristaux de bicarbonate de sodium.
