Abstract
(EN) Disclosed are an electrostatic discharge protection circuit and a display device comprising the protection circuit. The circuit comprises a first thin-film transistor and a second thin-film transistor that are both depletion mode thin-film transistors. The first thin-film transistor is connected at a gate electrode thereof to a second electric potential cable, at a drain electrode to a first electric potential cable, and at a source electrode to a signal cable. The second thin-film transistor is connected at a gate electrode thereof to the first electric potential cable, at a drain electrode to the second electric potential cable, and at a source electrode to the signal cable. The circuit, when in normal operation, effectively prevents the signal cable from releasing a large amount of current and ensures that an internal array of the display device operates normally, and when static electricity is produced, allows for rapid release of an electrostatic charge accumulated on the signal cable and ensures that the internal array of the display device is free from electrostatic damage. The present invention allows for utilization of the low-cost depletion mode thin-film transistors to implement electrostatic discharge, and for reduced manufacturing costs of the electrostatic discharge protection circuit, thus reducing manufacturing costs of the display device comprising the protection circuit.
(FR) L'invention concerne un circuit de protection contre les décharges électrostatiques et un dispositif d'affichage comprenant le circuit de protection. Le circuit comprend un premier transistor à couches minces et un second transistor à couches minces qui sont tous deux des transistors à couches minces à appauvrissement. Le premier transistor à couches minces est connecté au niveau d'une électrode de grille à un second câble de potentiel électrique, au niveau d'une électrode de drain à un premier câble de potentiel électrique, et au niveau d'une électrode de source à un câble de signal. Le second transistor à couches minces est connecté au niveau d'une électrode de grille au premier câble de potentiel électrique, au niveau d'une électrode de drain au second câble de potentiel électrique, et au niveau d'une électrode de source au câble de signal. En fonctionnement normal, le circuit empêche efficacement que le câble de signal fournisse une grande quantité de courant et assure un fonctionnement normal du réseau intérieur du dispositif d'affichage. Lorsque de l'électricité statique est produite, il permet une évacuation rapide d'une charge électrostatique accumulée sur le câble de signal et protège le réseau intérieur du dispositif d'affichage des dommages électrostatiques. La présente invention permet d'utiliser les transistors à couches minces à appauvrissement à faible coût pour réaliser la décharge électrostatique et de réduire les coûts de fabrication du circuit de protection contre les décharges électrostatiques, réduisant ainsi les coûts de fabrication du dispositif d'affichage comprenant le circuit de protection.
