Abstract
(EN) An apparatus and method for improving signal to noise ratio of a physiological signal is provided. At least one sensor senses the analog data signal, the analog data signal having a first component including ECG data and a second component including ancillary data. A converter is coupled to the at least one sensor that automatically converts the analog data signal into a digital data signal and decimates the digital data signal from a first sample rate to a second sample rate. A gain compensation circuit is coupled to the converter that automatically measures a magnitude of at least one of the first component and second component of the digital data signal and compares the measured magnitude to a reference value to determine if a gain applied to the analog data signal should be modified and automatically compensates the digital data signal in response to the determination that the analog gain value should be modified, wherein the compensated digital data signal corrects defects associated with a settling period of the converter resulting from modifying the gain applied to the analog data signal.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un appareil et un procédé d'amélioration du rapport signal sur bruit d'un signal physiologique. Au moins un capteur détecte le signal de données analogique, le signal de données analogique comprenant une première composante comprenant des données ECG et une seconde composante comprenant des données auxiliaires. Un convertisseur qui est couplé à l'au moins un capteur convertit automatiquement le signal de données analogique en un signal de données numérique et décime le signal de données numérique d'une première fréquence d'échantillonnage à une seconde fréquence d'échantillonnage. Un circuit de compensation de gain qui est couplé au convertisseur mesure automatiquement une amplitude de la première composante et/ou de la seconde composante du signal de données numérique et compare l'amplitude mesurée à une valeur de référence afin de déterminer si un gain appliqué au signal de données analogique devrait être modifié, et compense automatiquement le signal de données numérique en réponse à la détermination du fait que la valeur de gain analogique devrait être modifiée, le signal de données numérique compensé corrigeant des défauts associés à une période de stabilisation du convertisseur résultant d'une modification du gain appliqué au signal de données analogique.
