(EN)An apparatus and a method for generating electrical power are disclosed. The apparatus includes a mud motor including a rotor. The rotor is capable of eccentric motion and has a rotor end. The apparatus further includes an inverse magnetostrictive device having a magnetostrictive element. The magnetostrictive element has a flexing end that is affixed to the rotor end.
