Abstract
(EN) A device for the non-invasive sensing of the length of an implantable medical device includes an implantable medical device having first and second portions moveable relative to one another and a layer of resistive material disposed on one of the first and second portions. A contact is disposed on the other of the first and second portions, the contact being in sliding contact with the layer of resistive material upon relative movement between the first and second portions. A circuit is configured to measure the electrical resistance along a path including a variable length region of the layer of resistive material and the contact. The electrical resistance can then be converted into a length.
(FR) L'invention concerne un dispositif pour la détection non invasive de la longueur d'un dispositif médical implantable, lequel dispositif comprend un dispositif médical implantable ayant des première et seconde parties pouvant se déplacer l'une par rapport à l'autre et une couche de matériau résistant disposée sur l'une des première et seconde parties. Un contact est disposé sur l'autre des première et seconde parties, le contact étant en contact coulissant avec la couche de matériau résistant lors d'un déplacement relatif entre les première et seconde parties. Un circuit est configuré pour mesurer la résistance électrique le long d'un trajet comprenant une région de longueur variable de la couche de matériau résistant et le contact. La résistance électrique peut ensuite être convertie en une longueur.
