(EN)The invention discloses a gastroretentive drug delivery system comprising a drug in the core and coated with a coating of a pH sensitive polymer, P such that the polymer P has formula P(AxByCz), wherein A is selected from MMA and EMA, B is selected from BMA and EHM and C is 4-VP and x = 1-60 %, y = 30-92 % and z = 4-11 %, all values expressed as % w/w, such that x+y+z=100, said polymer swells at pH < 3.5, and neither swells nor dissolves at pH > 3.5. The gastroretentive system of the invention can release the drug in both sustained and pulsatile manners.
(FR)L'invention concerne un système gastro-rétentif de libération de médicaments, qui comprend un médicament placé dans le noyau et enrobé d'un polymère P sensible au pH. Le polymère P présente la formule P(AxByCz), dans laquelle A est choisi parmi MMA et EMA; B est choisi parmi BMA et EHM; et C est 4-VP et x = 1-60%, y = 30-92% et z = 4-11%, toutes ces valeurs étant exprimées en pourcentage en poids, de sorte que x + y + z = 100. Ledit polymère gonfle à un pH <3,5 mais ne gonfle ni ne se dissout à un pH> 3,5. Le système gastro-rétentif de l'invention peut libérer le médicament tant de manière lente que pulsatile.
