An exemplary lighting control system and method to use the same in which the lighting system may incorporate wireless communications between a DALI controller and DALI controlled devices while maintaining adherence to DALI protocol. The system comprises a DALI protocol based controller (master) connected via a first two wire data bus (e.g. a twisted pair wire) to a controller-side wireless module. The controller-side wireless module communicates via a wireless communication protocol (e.g. Wi-Fi, Zigbee) to at least one device-side wireless module. Each device-side wireless module is connected to a DALI stream via a second two wire data bus to at least one DALI ballast (slave) which is connected to at least one lamp bank. Additional devices may be connected to the DALI stream.

Selon un mode de réalisation illustratif, l'invention porte sur un système de commande d'éclairage et sur son procédé d'utilisation, le système d'éclairage pouvant incorporer des communications sans fil entre un dispositif de commande DALI et des dispositifs commandés DALI tout en maintenant l'adhérence au protocole DALI. Le système comporte un dispositif de commande à protocole DALI (maître) connecté par un premier bus de données bifilaire (par exemple un câble à paire torsadée) à un module sans fil côté dispositif de commande. Le module sans fil côté dispositif de commande communique par l'intermédiaire d'un protocole de communication sans fil (par exemple WiFi, Zigbee) avec au moins un module sans fil côté dispositif. Chaque module sans fil côté dispositif est connecté à une ligne DALI par un second bus de données bifilaire menant à au moins un ballast DALI (esclave) qui est connecté à au moins un groupe de lampes. Des dispositifs supplémentaires peuvent être connectés à la ligne DALI.
