Abstract

A method to reduce the emission of contaminants such as nitrogen oxides from the operation of a submerged combustion vaporizer. Fuels are combusted and the combustion gases are fed to an aqueous system which heats up and vaporizes cryogenic fluids in tube bundles in the submerged combustion vaporizer. Ozone is added to the aqueous system and will react with the contaminants allowing for their removal from the aqueous system.

L'invention concerne un procédé de réduction de l'émission de contaminants tels que les oxydes d'azote provenant du fonctionnement d'un vaporisateur à combustion immergé. Les combustibles sont brûlés et les gaz de combustion sont introduits dans un système aqueux qui réchauffe et vaporise des fluides cryogéniques dans des faisceaux de tube dans le vaporisateur à combustion immergé. De l'ozone est ajouté au système aqueux et réagira avec les contaminants, permettant leur élimination du système aqueux.
