An alarm system includes an alarm panel that signals sensed alarm conditions at a premises to a monitoring server over a packet switched data network. The alarm panel also senses and buffers audio at the premises. In response to a sensed alarm condition, buffered audio, buffered prior to signalling the sensed alarm condition, is transferred to the monitoring station. The alarm panel may further receive live audio from the premises. Data representing live audio and buffered audio may be transferred concurrently, allowing an operator at a monitoring center to listen to audio arising from events before and after an alarm is signalled. The alarm system may further allow real-time communication between the monitoring center and panel.

La présente invention concerne un système d'alarme comprenant un tableau d'alarme qui signale des conditions d'alarme détectées dans des locaux à un serveur de surveillance sur un réseau à commutation par paquets. Le tableau d'alarme détecte également et met en mémoire tampon l'audio dans les locaux. En réponse à une condition d'alarme détectée, l'audio en mémoire tampon, qui a été mis en mémoire tampon avant de signaler la condition d'alarme détectée, est transféré vers le poste de surveillance. Le tableau d'alarme peut en outre recevoir l'audio en direct des locaux. Les données représentant l'audio en direct et l'audio en mémoire tampon peuvent être transférées simultanément, permettant ainsi à un opérateur se trouvant dans un centre de télésurveillance d'écouter l'audio résultant d'événements avant et après qu'une alarme a été signalée.
