The invention relates to a method of inspecting packages with the aid of a linear image sensor. According to the invention, the method; aquires cyclically for each increment of motion, a sequence of n successive image lines (l1, 12,... In), the n image lines of each sequence being obtained with different exposure times (Ti) and/or different lighting conditions (Ek), groups together the image lines (I1, 12,... In) obtained in the sequences with both the same exposure time (Tï) and the same lighting conditions (Ek) in such a way as to obtain n superimposable images (I1, 12,... In) of at least j image lines, analyses the n images (I1, 12,... In) separately or in combination so as to determine at least one characteristic of the packages.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'inspection d'emballages à l'aide d'un capteur linéaire d'images. Selon l'invention, le procédé; acquiert cycliquement pour chaque incrément de mouvement, une séquence de n lignes d'images successives (l1, 12,... In), les n lignes d'images de chaque séquence étant obtenues avec des temps d'exposition (Ti) différents et/ou des conditions d'éclairage (Ek) différentes, regroupe entre elles les lignes d'images (I1, 12,... In) obtenues dans les séquences avec à la fois le même temps d'exposition (Tï) et les mêmes conditions d'éclairage (Ek) de manière à obtenir n images superposables (I1, 12,... In) d'au moins j lignes d'images, analyse séparément ou en combinaison les n images (I1, 12,... In) afin de déterminer au moins une caractéristique des emballages.
