A busway having multiple busbar conductors and pads composed of a thermally conductive, insulating material (TCIM) sandwiched in between each of the conductors and between the outermost conductors and the inside of the busway housing. The busway preferably includes three sets of TCIM pads, one set in the center of the busway, and a set at either end of the busway where a joint pack is installed to join multiple sections of busway sections together. The insulating material on the conductors has a cutout to expose the bare metal of the conductors, and a TCIM pad is placed directly on the exposed metal through the cutout, to form a thermal conduit between the busbar conductors to the metal housing of the busway, thereby reducing the temperatures of the busbar conductors and the joint pack during normal operation in which hundreds or thousands of amps of current are carried through the busway sections.

L'invention concerne une barre blindée comportant de multiples conducteurs de barres omnibus et des tampons faits d'un matériau isolant conducteur thermique (TCIM) pris en sandwich entre chacun des conducteurs et entre les conducteurs extérieurs et l'intérieur du carter de la barre blindée. La barre blindée comprend de préférence trois ensembles de tampons de TCIM, un placé au centre de la barre blindée, et un à chacune des extrémités de la barre blindée, où un dispositif de jonction est installé pour joindre de multiples sections de barre blindée. Le matériau isolant placé sur les conducteurs présente une découpe pour exposer le métal des conducteurs et un tampon de TCIM est placé directement sur le métal exposé dans la découpe, afin de former une liaison thermique entre les conducteurs des barres omnibus et le carter métallique de la barre blindée, ce qui permet de réduire les températures des conducteurs des barres omnibus et du dispositif de jonction en fonctionnement normal, où des centaines ou des milliers d'ampères sont transportés par les sections de la barre blindée.
