A method and apparatus for controlling the operation of a turbocharged internal combustion engine (10) with an exhaust gas aftertreatment device (20), wherein the operation of a wastegate of the turbocharger is based upon the exhaust gas aftertreatment device temperature and at least one of engine speed, engine fuel injection quantity, coolant temperature, ambient temperature and barometric pressure.

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un appareil destinés à commander le fonctionnement d'un moteur à combustion interne à turbocompresseur (10) doté d'un dispositif de post-traitement des gaz d'échappement (20). Le fonctionnement d'une soupape de décharge du turbocompresseur est basé sur la température du dispositif de post-traitement des gaz d'échappement et d'au moins une caractéristique parmi la vitesse du moteur, la quantité d'injection de carburant moteur, la température du liquide de refroidissement, la température ambiante et la pression barométrique.
