Embodiments of the present invention provide a vehicle sideslip control system for maintaining a non-zero value of sideslip whilst cornering. The system comprises a vehicle sideslip controller operable automatically to control the vehicle to apply a positive or negative torque to one or more wheels of the vehicle in such a manner as to maintain the non-zero value of sideslip.

Des modes de réalisation de la présente invention se rapportent à un système de commande de dérapage latéral de véhicule destiné à maintenir une valeur non nulle du dérapage latéral dans les virages. Le système comprend un dispositif de commande de dérapage latéral de véhicule pouvant être automatiquement actionné pour commander le véhicule afin d'appliquer un couple positif ou négatif à une ou plusieurs roues du véhicule de manière à maintenir la valeur non nulle de dérapage latéral.
