Abstract:
(EN) A power electronic converter (20), for use in high voltage direct current power transmission and reactive power compensation, comprises at least one converter limb (22a, 22b, 22c) including first and second terminals (24,26) being connectable to a DC network (30) and a third terminal (28), the or each converter limb (22a, 22b, 22c) defining first and second limb portions (34,36) connected in series between the third terminal (28) and a respective one of the first and second terminals (24,26), each limb portion (34,36) including a chain-link converter (38), each chain-link converter (38) including a plurality of modules connected in series, each module including at least one primary switching element connected to at least one energy storage device, each converter limb (22a, 22b, 22c) being controllable to selectively define a circulation path carrying an AC circulation current (54) for presentation to the DC network (30) to minimise DC ripple in a DC voltage presented to the DC network (30).
(FR) L'invention concerne un convertisseur électronique (20), destiné à être utilisé dans la transmission de courant continu à haute tension et la compensation de la puissance réactive, comprenant au moins une branche de conversion (22a, 22b, 22c) comportant une première et une deuxième borne (24, 26) qui peuvent être connectées à un réseau électrique continu (30) et une troisième borne (28), ladite ou lesdites branches de conversion (22a, 22b, 22c) définissant une première et une deuxième branche partielle (34, 36) connectées en série entre la troisième borne (28) et l'une des première et deuxième bornes (24, 26), respectivement. Chaque branche partielle (34, 36) comprend un convertisseur à cellules reliées en chaîne (38), chaque convertisseur à cellules reliées en chaîne (38) comportant une pluralité de modules montés en série, chaque module possédant au moins un élément commutateur primaire connecté à au moins un dispositif de stockage d'énergie, chacune des branches de conversion (22a, 22b, 22c) pouvant être commandée pour définir sélectivement un trajet de circulation qui transporte un courant de circulation alternatif (54) destiné à être fourni au réseau électrique continu (30) afin de réduire au minimum l'ondulation de la tension en courant continu fourni au réseau électrique continu (30).
