Abstract:
(EN) A multi-plate disc brake has interleaved rotatable and non-rotatable brake discs (11) within a brake housing (13) and a ball and ramp type brake actuator (12) comprising first and second relatively rotatable annular actuator discs (20, 21) with actuator balls (22) therebetween located in circumferentially ramped pockets (20a, 21a) on opposing faces of the actuator discs. A wedge-shaped actuator member (23) has an actuating means (24A, 24B) to displace the actuator member between confronting abutments (20b, 21b) on the respective actuator discs to relatively rotate the discs to cause the balls to rise up the ramped pockets and hence expand the actuator axially to move the brake discs (11) into engagement. Cooling oil is supplied into the brake housing through the wedge-shaped actuator member (23) when the brake is engaged.
(FR) L'invention concerne un frein à disque à plaquettes multiples comprenant des disques (11) de frein rotatifs et non-rotatifs intercalés dans un carter de frein (13) et un actionneur de frein de type à bille et à rampe (12) comprenant des premier et second disques actionneurs annulaires pouvant être mis en rotation (20, 21) avec des billes (22) d'actionnement placées entre eux dans des poches (20a et 21a) inclinées de manière circonférentielle sur des faces opposées des disques actionneurs. Un élément actionneur (23) en biseau comprend un élément d'actionnement (24A, 24B) destiné à déplacer l'élément actionneur entre des butées opposées (20b et 21b) sur les disques actionneurs respectifs pour mettre en rotation les disques en vue d'entraîner les billes à remonter les poches inclinées et ainsi élargir l'actionneur axialement afin qu'il mette en prise les disques de frein (11). De l'huile de refroidissement est alimentée dans le carter de frein à travers un élément actionneur en biseau (23) lorsque le frein est mis en prise.
