Abstract:
(EN) The invention relates to seismic surveying where complex geologies are likely to create data that is confusing or ambiguous for a conventional matrix of source points and receiver locations. With some understanding of the geological substructure, the source points and receiver locations that optimize the imaging may be found by using two-way wave equation propagation coupled with the best geologic model available. With this, the source points and receiver locations that optimize the imaging may be used in seismic survey to better resolve the substructure and avoid the inclusion of data that obscures understanding of the substructure.
(FR) L'invention porte sur l'étude sismique dans laquelle des géologies complexes sont susceptibles de créer des données qui sont confuses ou ambigües pour une matrice classique de points sources et d'emplacements récepteurs. Si l'on a une certaine compréhension de la structure géologique, les points sources et emplacements récepteurs qui optimisent l'imagerie peuvent être trouvés en utilisant une propagation selon une équation d'onde à deux voies couplée avec le meilleur modèle géologique dont on dispose.
