Downhole spectrometer tools are provided with two ways to increase the number of filters on an optical path, A first approach employs multiple filter wheels that rotate alternately in a common plane to intersect, the optical path. Portions of the wheels are cut out to avoid mechanical interference between the wheels. A second approach drives the one or more filter wheels with a wobble that causes the filters to trace one or more hypocyeloidal curves that each intersect the optical path.

La présente invention concerne des outils de spectrométrie de fond de trou avec lesquels il est possible, de deux manières différentes, d'augmenter le nombre de filtres sur un trajet optique. Une première approche consiste à utiliser plusieurs disques porte-filtres tournant en alternance dans un plan commun de façon à croiser le trajet optique. Des parties des disques sont découpées pour éviter des interférences mécaniques entre les disques. Une seconde approche consiste à faire osciller le ou les disques porte-filtres pour que les filtres tracent une ou plusieurs courbes hypocycloïdes croisant chacune le trajet optique.
