The invention provides a touch screen assembly for a user to enter characters into an electronic device, the touch screen assembly comprising: a processor; a touch screen having a touch-sensitive surface; and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to maintain multiple repositionable finger contact regions on the touch-sensitive surface, as described in detail herein. The processor uses the association of characters to finger contacts to recognize character input based on the indicated regions of finger contacts and the indications of sliding/non-sliding contact. Also provided is a method of analyzing human gestures to recognize character input to an electronic device; and a machine readable storage medium storing instructions for executing the method of the invention.

L'invention se rapporte à un ensemble écran tactile permettant à un utilisateur d'entrer des caractères dans un dispositif électronique, l'ensemble écran tactile comprenant : un processeur; un écran tactile comportant une interface sensible au toucher; et une mémoire stockant des instructions qui, lorsqu'elles sont exécutées par le processeur, amènent le processeur à maintenir de multiples régions de contact tactile repositionnables sur la surface sensible au toucher, comme décrit en détail ici. Le processeur utilise l'association caractères-contacts tactiles afin de reconnaître l'entrée de caractère sur la base des régions de contacts tactiles indiquées et des indications de contact coulissant/non coulissant. L'invention se rapporte également à un procédé d'analyse de gestes humains afin de reconnaître l'entrée de caractère dans un dispositif électronique; et à un support de stockage lisible sur machine stockant des instructions pour exécuter le procédé de l'invention.
