A method of estimating chordal holdup values of gas, oil and water (formula i) for tomographic imaging of a three-phase flow through a volume, comprising - providing an X-ray source arranged for irradiating through said volume and two or more X-ray sensors arranged for discriminating at least partly between a first and a second radiation bands, - conducting first calibration measurements (formula ii) of said first radiation band of the X-ray sensors for only gas, only oil, and only water present in said volume, respectively, - conducting second calibration measurements (formula iii) of said second radiation band of the X-ray sensors for only gas, only oil, and only water present in said volume, respectively, - arranging a mixture of two or more fluids of gas, oil and water in said volume, - irradiating said volume and conducting X-ray measurements (formula iv) in said first and second radiation bands, establishing a relationship between a function of holdup values (formula v) of at least gas and water and said X-ray measurements (formula iv ) on said mixture in said first and second radiation bands, - searching holdup values (formula vi) that minimise said function of holdup values (formula v) under the constraints of the sum of said holdup values of gas and water is more than or equal to zero and less than or equal to one, i.e. that (formula vii)

L'invention concerne un procédé d'estimation de valeurs cordales de rétention de gaz, d'huile et d'eau (formule i) pour une imagerie tomographique d'un écoulement à trois phases à travers un volume. Ce procédé consiste à : - se procurer une source de rayons X disposée pour irradier à travers ledit volume et au moins deux capteurs de rayons X disposés pour discriminer au moins partiellement entre une première et une seconde bande de rayonnement, - conduire des premières mesures d'étalonnage (formule ii) de ladite première bande de rayonnement desdits capteurs de rayons X pour respectivement seulement le gaz, seulement l'huile et seulement l'eau, présents dans ledit volume, - conduire des secondes mesures d'étalonnage (formule iii) de ladite seconde bande de rayonnement des capteurs de rayons X pour respectivement seulement le gaz, seulement l'huile et seulement l'eau, présents dans ledit volume, - disposer un mélange d'au moins deux fluides de gaz, huile et eau dans ledit volume, - irradier ledit volume et conduire des mesures de rayons X (formule iv) dans lesdites première et seconde bandes de rayonnement, - établir une relation entre une fonction de valeurs de rétention (formule v) d'au moins du gaz et de l'eau et desdites mesures de rayons X (formule iv) sur ledit mélange dans lesdites première et seconde bandes de rayonnement, - rechercher des valeurs de rétention (formule vi) qui rendent minimale ladite fonction de valeurs de rétention (formule v) sous les contraintes que la somme desdites valeurs de rétention de gaz et d'eau soit supérieure ou égale à zéro et inférieure ou égale à un, à savoir que (formule vii).
