A method of determining locations of at least two pointers in a captured image frame comprises generating a vertical intensity profile (VIP) from the captured image frame, the VIP comprising peaks generally corresponding to the at least two pointers; examining the spacing of the peaks; and when the peaks are closely spaced: fitting a curve to the VIP; analyzing the fitted curve to determine peak locations of the fitted curve; and registering the peak locations as the pointer locations.

L'invention concerne un procédé de détermination des emplacements d'au moins deux pointeurs dans une trame d'image capturée, consistant à générer un profil d'intensité verticale (VIP) à partir de la trame d'image capturée, le VIP comprenant des pics correspondant généralement auxdits au moins deux pointeurs ; à examiner l'espacement des pics ; et lorsque les pics sont peu espacés : à mettre en place une courbe sur le VIP ; à analyser la courbe mise en place pour déterminer les emplacements des pics de la courbe mise en place ; et à inscrire les emplacements des pics en tant qu'emplacements des pointeurs.
