(EN)In accordance with particular descriptions provided herein, certain embodiments of the inventive technology may be described as a hydrocarbon viscosity reduction method that comprises the steps of: treating a hydrocarbon having asphaltenes therein to generate a treated hydrocarbon, wherein said hydrocarbon has a first viscosity; contacting said treated hydrocarbon with a sorbent (whether as a result of pouring or other means); and adsorbing at least a portion of said asphaltenes onto said sorbent, thereby removing said at least a portion of said asphaltenes from said hydrocarbon so as to generate a viscosity reduced hydrocarbon having a second viscosity that is lower than said first viscosity.
(FR)La présente invention concerne, dans certains modes de réalisation, un procédé de réduction de la viscosité des hydrocarbures comprenant les étapes suivantes : le traitement d'un hydrocarbure contenant des asphaltènes pour générer un hydrocarbure traité, ledit hydrocarbure possédant une première viscosité ; le contact dudit hydrocarbure traité avec un sorbant (par versement ou par un autre moyen) ; et l'adsorption d'au moins une partie desdits asphaltènes sur ledit sorbant, pour ainsi éliminer au moins une partie desdits asphaltènes dudit hydrocarbure afin de générer un hydrocarbure à viscosité réduite possédant une seconde viscosité qui est inférieure à ladite première viscosité.
