Abstract
(EN) An example fuel cell seal assembly includes a seal configured to restrict flow of a fuel cell fluid through at least one of an outer lateral edge of a first gas diffusion layer, an outer lateral edge of a membrane electrode assembly, and an outer lateral edge of a second gas diffusion layer.. The outer lateral edge of the first gas diffusion layer is laterally spaced from the outer lateral edge of the second gas diffusion layer. An example method of sealing a fuel cell interface includes limiting flow of a fuel cell fluid using a seal configured to restrict flow through an outwardly facing edge of at least one of a first gas diffusion layer and an outwardly facing edge of a second gas diffusion layer. The outwardly facing edge of the first gas diffusion layer is spaced from the outwardly facing edge of the second gas diffusion layer.
(FR) Selon un mode de réalisation donné à titre d'exemple, cette invention concerne un ensemble joint de pile à combustible comprenant un joint conçu pour limiter un écoulement d'un fluide de pile à combustible à travers au moins un bord latéral extérieur d'une première couche de diffusion gazeuse, un bord latéral extérieur d'un ensemble électrode à membrane, et au moins un bord latéral extérieur d'une seconde couche de diffusion gazeuse. Le bord latéral extérieur de la première couche de diffusion gazeuse est latéralement espacé du bord latéral extérieur de la seconde couche de diffusion gazeuse. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé de scellement d'une interface de pile à combustible. Selon un mode de réalisation donné à titre d'exemple, ledit procédé comprend l'étape consistant à limiter l'écoulement d'un fluide de pile à combustible au moyen d'un joint conçu pour limiter l'écoulement à travers un bord orienté vers l'extérieur d'une première couche de diffusion gazeuse et/ou un bord orienté vers l'extérieur d'une seconde couche de diffusion gazeuse. Ledit bord orienté vers l'extérieur de ladite première couche de diffusion gazeuse est espacé dudit bord orienté vers l'extérieur de ladite seconde couche de diffusion gazeuse.
