Title: ULTRASONIC FLOW VOLUME MEASURING APPARATUS
Abstract:
The present invention measures a flow volume of a fluid by easily attaching and detaching an ultrasonic flow volume measuring apparatus to and from a tube body having the fluid to be measured flowing therein. Two half sections (1, 2) are rotatably connected by means of a shaft (3), and a clamp mechanism that connects and locks the half sections (1, 2) is provided on the side opposite to the side having the shaft. Rectangular groove sections (1a, 2a) are formed in the half sections (1, 2), respectively, and a pair of ultrasonic transmitting/receiving devices (4a, 4b) are embedded in the inner wall surface of a groove section (1a). When a tube body (P) is sandwiched by means of the groove sections (1a, 2a), the tube body (P) is in a substantially square shape in substantially close contact with the inner wall surfaces. When an ultrasonic beam (B) is transmitted from one of the transmitting/receiving devices (4a, 4b) into the fluid in the tube body (P) at the time of measuring a flow volume, the beam is reflected by the opposite surface of the tube body (P), in the groove section (2a), and the beam is received by the other one of the transmitting/receiving devices (4a, 4b). Flow velocity is obtained by obtaining a propagation time difference between an advancing time when the ultrasonic beam (B) advances from the upstream to the downstream, and a return time when the beam returns from the downstream to the upstream.
