A display element (10) provided with an upper substrate (first substrate) (2), a lower substrate (second substrate) (3), and a polar liquid (16) which is sealed in a display space (S) formed between the upper substrate (2) and the lower substrate (3) so as to be movable to the effective display region (P1) side or the ineffective display region (P2) side, wherein a rib (structure) (14a-14c) for driving the polar liquid (16) is provided for each pixel region (P) so as to cover the whole area of the surface (2a) on the display space (S) side of the upper substrate (2).

L'invention porte sur un élément d'affichage (10), qui comporte un substrat supérieur (premier substrat) (2), un substrat inférieur (second substrat) (3), et un liquide polaire (16) qui est hermétiquement scellé dans un espace d'affichage (S) formé entre le substrat supérieur (2) et le substrat inférieur (3) de façon à être mobile vers le côté de région d'affichage efficace (P1) ou le côté de région d'affichage non efficace (P2), et dans lequel une nervure (structure) (14a-14c) pour commander le liquide polaire (16) est disposée pour chaque région de pixel (P) de façon à couvrir la totalité de la surface (2a) sur le côté d'espace d'affichage (S) du substrat supérieur (2).
