A pusher following a pass line is disposed on the entry side and a plug on the exit side, and a punch, in which a plurality of inclined rolls are disposed in opposition around a plug, is used. When the maximum diameter for an inferior quality area including center segregation and porosity within the billet cross-sectional surface is d [mm], piercing and rolling is carried out under conditions such that the plug tip drawing ratio (TDF) represented by equation (1) satisfies equation (2). TDF = (Bd - D1)/Bd... (1) TDF ≤ 0.50 x (d/Bd) + 0.06... (2) In equation (1) and equation (2), Bd is the billet diameter [mm], and D1 is the space [mm] between the inclined rolls at the position of the plug tip. Thus, during piercing and rolling, occurrences of inside surface defects caused by center segregation and porosity in the billet can be reliably prevented.

Selon l'invention, une pousseuse suivant un axe de cannelure est disposée du côté de l'entrée, un boulet du côté de la sortie et un poinçon, dans lequel une pluralité de rouleaux inclinés sont disposés face à face autour d'un boulet, est utilisé. Quand le diamètre maximal pour une zone de qualité inférieure comprenant une ségrégation et une porosité centrales à l'intérieur de la surface en coupe de la billette est d [mm], le perçage et le laminage sont exécutés dans des conditions telles que le rapport de réduction diamétrale de la pointe de boulet (TDF) représenté par l'équation (1) satisfait à l'équation (2). TDF = (Bd - D1)/Bd... (1) TDF ≤ 0,50 x (d/Bd) + 0,06... (2) Dans les équations (1) et (2), Bd est le diamètre [mm] de la billette et D1 est l'espace [mm] entre les rouleaux inclinés au niveau de la position de la pointe de boulet. Ainsi, pendant le perçage et le laminage, on peut de façon fiable empêcher la survenance de défauts de surface intérieure provoqués par une ségrégation et une porosité centrales dans la billette.
