Abstract

The present invention provides a curable, organic polymeric photochromic composition comprising: a photochromic amount of at least one photochromic material; a polymeric polyol having carbonate groups along its backbone and having a number average molecular weight greater than 5000 g/mole; and a curing agent having reactive functional groups capable of reacting with hydroxyl groups on the polymeric polyol. After curing and after the Photochromic Performance Test the composition demonstrates a T1/2 fade rate of less than 200 seconds. Also provided is a photochromic article comprising a rigid substrate and a photochromic organic polymeric coating applied to a surface of the substrate. The photochromic organic polymeric coating comprises the composition described above.

La présente invention concerne une composition photochromique polymère organique, durcissable comprenant : une quantité photochromique d'au moins un matériau photochromique ; un polyol polymère présentant des groupes carbonate le long de sa épine dorsale et présentant un poids moléculaire numérique moyen supérieur à 5000 g/mole ; et un agent de durcissement présentant des groupes fonctionnels réactifs capables de réagir avec les groupes hydroxyles sur le polyol polymère. Après le durcissement et après le test de performance photochromique, la composition montre une vitesse de décoloration T1/2 inférieure à 200 secondes. De plus, elle concerne un objet photochromique comprenant un substrat rigide et un revêtement polymère organique photochromique appliqué sur une surface du substrat. Le revêtement polymère organique photochromique comprend la composition décrite ci-dessus.
