Abstract

A coaxial connector assembly for interconnection with a coaxial cable with a solid outer conductor is provided with a monolithic connector body with a bore. A mating surface with a decreasing diameter toward a connector end is provided on an outer diameter of the connector body proximate the connector end. An overbody may be provided overmolded upon a cable end of the connector body. An interface end may be seated upon the mating surface, the interface end provided with a desired connection interface. The interface end may be permanently coupled to the mating surface by a molecular bond interconnection. In a method of interconnection, the interface end is coupled to the mating surface by application of radial ultrasonic welding.

L'invention concerne un ensemble connecteur coaxial destiné à être interconnecté avec un câble coaxial pourvu d'un conducteur extérieur massif, cet ensemble étant pourvu d'un corps de connecteur monolithique présentant un trou. Une surface de contact présentant un diamètre décroissant en direction d'une extrémité connecteur est ménagée sur un diamètre extérieur du corps de connecteur à proximité de l'extrémité connecteur. Un corps de recouvrement peut être surmoulé sur une extrémité câble du corps de connecteur. Une extrémité interface peut être placée sur la surface de contact, cette extrémité interface étant pourvue d'une interface de connexion voulue. L'extrémité interface peut être accouplée de façon permanente à la surface de contact par une interconnexion par liaison moléculaire. Selon un procédé d'interconnexion, l'extrémité interface est accouplée à la surface de contact par soudage radial par ultrasons.
