Abstract

A sensor capable of detecting both airflow in spirometry and a full range of sound frequencies is provided. The airflow sensor includes a movable flap with one or more integrated strain gauges for measuring displacement and vibration. The sensor may be a bidirectional elastic flap airflow sensor that is capable of providing data needed for both spirometry and auscultation measurements. The sensor is provided in connection with a software module that analyzes sensor output waveforms and provides for correction functions that correct for certain non-linear response functions of the flap. The correction functions are also suitable for non-medical fluid flow metering applications. Additional devices may also be affixed to the flap, such as sensors for the ambient level of various chemicals, sensors for temperature, sensors for humidity and microphones.

L'invention porte sur un capteur apte à détecter à la fois un écoulement d'air dans une spirométrie et une plage complète de fréquences sonores. Le capteur d'écoulement d'air comprend un volet mobile comportant une ou plusieurs jauges de contraintes intégrées pour mesurer un déplacement et une vibration. Le capteur peut être un capteur d'écoulement d'air à volet élastique bidirectionnel qui est apte à fournir des données nécessaires à la fois pour des mesures de spirométrie et d'auscultation. Le capteur est disposé en relation avec un module logiciel qui analyse des formes d'onde de sortie de capteur et qui produit des fonctions de correction qui corrigent certaines fonctions de réponse non linéaires du volet. Les fonctions de correction sont également appropriées pour des applications de dosage d'écoulement de fluides non médicaux. Des dispositifs additionnels peuvent également être fixés au volet, tels que des capteurs pour le niveau ambiant de différents produits chimiques, des capteurs pour la température, des capteurs pour l'humidité et des microphones.
