A radiation pattern recognition system and method for a wireless user equipment (UE) device wherein a set of benchmark radiation patterns are matched based on the wireless UE device' s usage mode. In one aspect, the wireless UE device includes one or more antennas adapted for radio communication with a telecommunications network. A memory is provided including a database of benchmark radiation patterns for each of the one or more antennas in one or more usage modes associated with the wireless UE device. A processor is configured to execute an antenna application process for optimizing performance of the wireless UE device based at least in part upon using the matched set of benchmark radiation patterns.

L'invention porte sur un système et un procédé de reconnaissance de diagramme de rayonnement pour un dispositif d'équipement utilisateur (UE) sans fil dans lesquels un ensemble de diagrammes de rayonnement de référence sont appariés sur la base du mode d'utilisation du dispositif UE sans fil. Selon un aspect, le dispositif UE sans fil comprend une ou plusieurs antennes conçues pour des radiocommunications avec un réseau de télécommunication. Une mémoire est utilisée, laquelle comprend une base de données de diagrammes de rayonnement de référence pour chacune des antennes dans un ou plusieurs modes d'utilisation associés au dispositif UE sans fil. Un processeur est configuré pour exécuter un processus d'application d'antenne servant à optimiser les performances du dispositif UE sans fil sur la base, au moins en partie, de l'utilisation de l'ensemble apparié de digrammes de rayonnement de référence.
