Abstract

A pulse detonation combustor including a plurality of nozzles engaged with one another via mating surfaces to support a gas discharge annulus in a circumferential direction. The pulse detonation combustor also incluidng multiple pulse detonation tubes extending for the nozzles and a plurality of thermal expansion control joints coupled to the plurality of pulse detonation tubes. Each of the plurality of thermal expansion control joints is configured to facilitate independent thermal growth of each of the pluratly of pulse detonation tubes. The thermal expansion control joints may be configured as a bellows expansion joint or a sliding expansion joint.

L'invention porte sur une chambre de combustion à détonations pulsées, laquelle chambre comprend une pluralité de buses venant en prise les unes avec les autres par l'intermédiaire de surfaces d'accouplement afin de supporter un anneau de décharge de gaz dans une direction circonférentielle. La chambre de combustion à détonations pulsées comprend également de multiples tubes de détonations pulsées s'étendant pour les buses et une pluralité de joints de contrôle de dilatation thermique couplés à la pluralité de tubes de détonations pulsées. Chacun de la pluralité de joints de contrôle de dilatation thermique est configuré de façon à faciliter une croissance thermique indépendante de chacun de la pluralité de tubes de détonations pulsées. Les joints de contrôle de dilatation thermique peuvent être configurés sous la forme d'un joint à soufflets ou d'un joint de dilatation coulissant.
