Abstract
(EN)
A self-positioning mechanism is provided that determines and tracks the position of an access point in real time. A location unaware access point determines its location from the locations of location aware stations. The location is determined based on a predicted estimate which is updated based on measured values of the locations of the location aware stations over a time period. The movement of the location is then tracked based on the differences between range measurements of the location aware stations.

L'invention concerne un mécanisme d'auto-positionnement qui détermine et suit la position d'un point d'accès en temps réel. Un point d'accès non conscient de l'emplacement détermine son emplacement à partir des emplacements de stations conscientes de l'emplacement. L'emplacement est déterminé sur la base d'une estimation prédite qui est mise à jour sur la base de valeurs mesurées des emplacements des stations conscientes de l'emplacement sur une période de temps. Le déplacement de l'emplacement est ensuite suivi sur la base des différences entre les mesures de distance des stations conscientes de l'emplacement.
