The present invention addresses the problem of providing a piston ring which can reduce reciprocating dynamic friction between a piston and the inner wall of a cylinder and can retain the effect of reducing the friction. The piston ring for internal combustion engines is fitted to a ring groove of a piston and slides on a cylinder liner or on the inner wall of a cylinder. The peripheral sliding surface of the piston ring includes a barrel width region, and the barrel width region has a plurality of fine recesses, which have been formed so that the recess-free region of the barrel width region has an area which is 20-85% of the overall area of the barrel width region in which the recesses have not been formed, the recess-free region being made to be present in all axial sections of the barrel width region.

Le problème posé par la présente invention consiste à réaliser un segment de piston qui puisse réduire le frottement dynamique alternatif entre un piston et la paroi intérieure d'un cylindre et qui puisse conserver l'effet de réduction du frottement. Le segment de piston pour moteurs à combustion interne est monté dans une gorge de segment d'un piston et glisse sur une chemise de cylindre ou sur la paroi intérieure d'un cylindre. La surface de glissement périphérique du segment de piston comprend une région de largeur en tonneau, et la région de largeur en tonneau présente une pluralité de fins alvéoles qui ont été formés de telle sorte que la région exempte d'alvéoles de la région de largeur en tonneau possède une surface qui représente 20-85 % de la surface totale de la région de largeur en tonneau dans laquelle les alvéoles n'ont pas été formés, la région exempte d'alvéoles étant réalisée de manière à être présente dans toutes les sections axiales de la région de largeur en tonneau.

 ピストンとシリンダ内壁面との往復動摩擦を低減させるとともに、当該低減効果を維持することができるピストンリングを提供することを課題とする。 ピストンのリング溝に装着され、シリンダライナあるいはシリンダの内壁面と摺動する内燃機関用ピストンリングにおいて、ピストンリングの外周摺動面のうち、ピストンリングのバレル幅領域に、微小な凹部が複数形成し、バレル幅領域において凹部が形成されていない凹部非形成領域の面積を、凹部形成前のバレル幅領域の全面積を100%としたときの20~85%の範囲内とし、バレル幅領域の軸方向切断面のすべてには、凹部非形成領域を存在せしめる。
