Abstract

The present invention generally relates to self healing polymer nanocomposites and to a process for the preparation of the self healing polymer nanocomposites. The nanocomposite may comprise a macromolecule, a crosslinking agent for non-covalent bonding with the macromolecule and a nanofiller. The crosslinking agent may be urea and the macromolecule may be a condensation polymer such as polyamide. The nanocomposites exhibit autonomous self-healing behaviour.

La présente invention concerne de manière générale des nanocomposites polymères auto-cicatrisants et un procédé pour la préparation des nanocomposites polymères auto-cicatrisants. Le nanocomposite peut comprendre une macromolécule, un agent réticulant pour une liaison non-covalente avec la macromolécule et une nanocharge. L'agent réticulant peut être l'urée et la macromolécule peut être un polymère de condensation, tel qu'un polyamide. Les nanocomposites présentent un comportement auto-cicatrisant autonome.
