A process for the selective recovery of Mo, V, Ni, Co and Al from spent hydroprocessing catalysts includes the steps of treating the spent catalysts to recovery metals, support as well as chemicals. The process steps include deoiling, decoking, washing, dissolving, complexing agent treatment, acid treatment and solvent extraction. This process uses limited steps than conventional processes by the use of ultrasonic agitation for metal extraction and the presence of a chelating agent particularly Ethylene Diamine Tetra-Acetic Acid (EDTA). The process also discloses the compete recovery of the extracting agent EDTA with high purity for reuse.

L'invention concerne un procédé de récupération sélective, de Mo, V, Ni, Co et Al dans des catalyseurs d'hydrotraitement usés, qui comprend les étapes de traitement des catalyseurs usés pour récupérer les métaux, le support ainsi que les produits chimiques. Les étapes de traitement comprennent un déshuilage, un décokage, un lavage, une dissolution, un traitement par un agent complexant, un traitement par un acide et une extraction par solvant. Ce procédé utilise des étapes limitées par rapport aux procédés classiques par l'utilisation d'une agitation par ultrasons pour l'extraction de métaux et la présence d'un agent de chélation, en particulier l'acide d'éthylène diamine tétra-acétique (EDTA). Le procédé concerne également la récupération complète de l'agent d'extraction EDTA avec une grande pureté en vue d'une réutilisation.
