A wireless communication terminal is disclosed. The terminal includes a transceiver coupled to a processor configured to (1) determine a first subset of a plurality of REs in a signal received at the terminal, the signal including a first transmission from a first base station, but not a second transmission from a second base station, (2) determine a second subset of the plurality of REs that include both the first transmission and the second transmission, (3) determine a first channel state including a first noise variance corresponding to the first subset of the plurality of REs, (4) determine a second channel state including a second noise variance corresponding to the second subset of the plurality of REs, and (5) estimate a hypothetical BLER based on the first channel state, the second channel state, the first noise variance and the second noise variance.

L'invention concerne un terminal de communication sans fil. Le terminal comprend un émetteur-récepteur couplé à un processeur configuré : (1) pour déterminer un premier sous-ensemble d'une pluralité d'émetteurs radio (RE) dans un signal reçu par le terminal, le signal comprenant une première émission provenant d'une première station de base, mais ne comprenant pas de seconde émission provenant d'une seconde station de base; (2) pour déterminer un second sous-ensemble de la pluralité de RE qui comprend à la fois la première émission et la seconde émission; (3) pour déterminer un premier état de canal comprenant une première variance du bruit qui correspond au premier sous-ensemble de la pluralité de RE; (4) pour déterminer un second état de canal comprenant une seconde variance du bruit qui correspond au second sous-ensemble de la pluralité de RE, et (5) pour estimer un taux BLER hypothétique en fonction du premier état de canal, du second état de canal, de la première variance du bruit et de la seconde variance du bruit.
