Abstract

The invention is directed to a marine tensioner (1) for handling an elongated article from an offshore vessel. The tensioner comprises a tensioner frame (11), multiple track units (20), wherein each track unit comprises an elongated chassis (30) and an endless track supported by said chassis, wherein between the chassis of each track unit and the tensioner frame a connecting structure (40,140) is provided that at least allows for lateral motion of the track unit with respect to the passage axis (26) so as to adapt the position of the track unit. For each track unit a group of hydraulic squeeze cylinders (50a, 50b, 50c) is provided between the tensioner frame and the chassis of the track unit. The tensioner further comprises a tilting mechanism (60) for the group of squeeze cylinders of each track unit, said tilting mechanism being adapted to tilt the hydraulic squeeze cylinders of a track unit between an operative position, wherein the squeeze cylinders are operative to exert a squeeze force in use of the tensioner for handling an elongated article, and an oversized article passage position.

L'invention concerne un tendeur marin servant à manipuler un article allongé à partir d'un navire offshore. Le tendeur comporte une armature de tendeur et des unités multiples à chenilles, chaque unité à chenille comportant un châssis allongé et une chenille sans fin portée par ledit châssis. Entre le châssis de chaque unité à chenille et l'armature de tendeur est installée une structure de liaison qui permet au moins un mouvement latéral de l'unité à chenille par rapport à l'axe de passage de façon à adapter la position de l'unité à chenille. Pour chaque unité à chenille, un groupe de vérins hydrauliques de pression est placé entre l'armature de tendeur et le châssis de l'unité à chenille. Le tendeur comporte en outre un mécanisme de basculement du groupe de vérins de pression de chaque unité à chenille, ledit mécanisme de basculement étant conçu pour faire basculer les vérins hydrauliques de pression d'une unité à chenille entre une position opérationnelle, où les vérins de pression sont opérationnels pour exercer un effort de pression pendant l'utilisation du tendeur pour manipuler un article allongé, et une position de passage d'articles hors gabarit.
