Title
(EN) SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING OBJECT SUBSTITUTION IN VIDEO
(FR) SYSTÈME ET PROCÉDÉ POUR RÉALISER UNE SUBSTITUTION D'OBJETS DANS UNE VIDÉO
Abstract
(EN)
A system and method for providing object substitution in a video program is provided including an object selector module configured for selecting desired objects in the video program, a determination module configured for determining whether to apply a generic or a custom image to each selected desired object, and a review module configured for determining whether there are previous object substitutions in the video program and determining whether to replace each previous object substitution with a replacement object. Advantageously, a video program can be used to provide an updated or targeted advertisement to viewers by replacing objects embedded in the video with customized objects that are more appropriate, interesting or useful to the target viewer. Furthermore, a system and method is provided for enabling object substitution in a video program to be implemented at various sites, e.g., at the point of broadcast or at a user receiver.
