This invention relates to a method of manufacturing a heat exchanger block, to a spacer means for use in the method, and to a heat exchanger block. The heat exchanger block comprises a number of tubes and a number of fins, the fins having a predetermined spacing determined by the spacer means. The method includes the steps of locating the fins in a carrier and pressing the fins onto the tubes, and providing spacer means for the fins, whereby the spacer means supports a fin during the pressing step and determines the spacing between the fins in the assembled heat exchanger. Each of the fins has apertures for the tubes, the apertures engaging the tubes. Each of the spacer means has openings for the tubes, the openings being larger than the apertures.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un bloc d'échangeur de chaleur, un moyen d'entretoise destiné à être utilisé dans le procédé, et un bloc d'échangeur de chaleur. Le bloc d'échangeur de chaleur comporte une pluralité de tubes et une pluralité d'ailettes, les ailettes ayant un espacement prescrit déterminé par le moyen d'entretoise. Le procédé comprend les étapes suivantes: le placement des ailettes dans un support et le pressage des ailettes sur les tubes, et la mise à disposition d'un moyen d'entretoise pour les ailettes, le moyen d'entretoise assurant le support d'une ailette lors de l'étape de pressage et déterminant l'espacement entre les ailettes dans l'échangeur thermique assemblé. Chacune des ailettes présente des ouvertures pour les tubes, les ouvertures recevant les tubes. Chacun des moyens d'entretoise présente des lumières pour les tubes, les lumières étant plus grandes que les ouvertures.
