One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for enabling communication between a SAS communication port of a SAS communication component and multiple storage devices. In a first example, a first SAS to SATA bridge chip and a second SAS to SATA bridge chip may be configured to route data from a SAS communication component to multiple storage devices. In a second example, a SAS to SATA bridge chip and a port multiplier may be configured to route data from a SAS communication component to multiple storage devices. In a third example, a four port SAS to SATA bridge comprising two SAS ports and two SATA ports may be configured to route data from a SAS communication component to multiple storage devices. Supporting two or more storage devices with a single SAS communication port allows storage enclosures to increase storage capacity, while decreasing cost per slot.

L'invention concerne une ou plusieurs techniques et/ou un ou plusieurs systèmes qui permettent la communication entre un port de communication SAS d'un composant de communication SAS et une pluralité de dispositifs de stockage. Selon un premier exemple, une première puce de pont SAS à SATA et une seconde puce de pont SAS à SATA peuvent être configurées pour router des données d'un composant de communication SAS vers une pluralité de dispositifs de stockage. Selon un deuxième exemple, une puce de pont SAS à SATA et un multiplicateur de ports peuvent être configurés pour router des données d'un composant de communication SAS vers une pluralité de dispositifs de stockage. Selon un troisième exemple, un pont SAS à SATA à quatre ports comportant deux ports SAS et deux ports SATA peut être configuré pour router des données d'un composant de communication SAS vers une pluralité de dispositifs de stockage. La prise en charge d'au moins deux dispositifs de stockage avec un seul port de communication SAS permet d'augmenter la capacité de stockage de baies de stockage, tout en réduisant le coût par emplacement.
