An information display device comprises, as denoted in Fig. 1: a display unit (12) wherein a plurality of SEG wires (13, 14) which are connected in correspondence with each respective pixel electrode, and a plurality of COM wires (15, 16) which are connected in correspondence with each respective counter electrode, form a matrix and display information; and a display driver (11) which is connected to the COM wires and the SEG wires of the display unit (12) and applies a prescribed voltage between the pixel electrodes and the counter electrodes, driving the display of the pixels. The display unit (12) is positioned in an information display substrate (101) of a prescribed size, with a prescribed width in the longitudinal direction and a prescribed height in the latitudinal direction. The display driver (11) is positioned in an empty region of the substrate which is adjacent to the display unit (12) on one side thereof in the longitudinal direction. It is possible to keep protrusion by the display unit into the empty region of the substrate in the latitudinal direction to a minimum, and to allow the shape of the device overall, including the display unit, to be horizontally extended, lengthened further in the horizontal direction than in the vertical direction.

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'affichage d'informations tel que représenté par la figure 1, lequel comporte une unité d'affichage (12) dans laquelle une pluralité de fils SEG (13, 14) reliés avec chaque électrode de pixel correspondante, et une pluralité de fils COM (15, 16) reliés avec chaque électrode auxiliaire correspondante forment une matrice et permettent l'affichage d'informations. Ce dispositif comporte également un dispositif de commande d'affichage (11) relié aux fils COM et SEG de l'unité d'affichage, lequel applique une tension prédéterminée entre les électrodes de pixel et les électrodes auxiliaires, ce qui permet l'excitation des pixels. L'unité d'affichage (12) est située dans un substrat d'affichage d'informations (101) d'une taille prédéterminée et possède une longueur prédéterminée et une largeur prédéterminée. Le dispositif de commande d'affichage (11) est situé dans une zone vide du substrat adjacente à l'unité d'affichage (12) sur un des côté de celle-ci, dans sa longueur. Ce dispositif permet de limiter au maximum que l'unité d'affichage ne fasse saillie dans la zone vide substrat en direction de la largeur, tout en permettant que la forme du dispositif dans son entier, lequel comprend l'unité d'affichage (12), soit plus étendue en largeur qu'en longueur.
