Eine Vorrichtung (1; 2; 3, 4) und ein Verfahren zur Erzeugung von Brenngas (7) sowie ein Elektrolyt (8) hierfür sind bereitgestellt. Die Vorrichtung (1; 2; 3, 4) umfasst ein flächiges Element (55) zur Aufnahme eines Elektrolyts (8) aus Kohlenstoff (C) und Wasser (H20), denen gegebenenfalls zudem noch eine leitfähige Verbindung zugesetzt ist, die in wässriger Lösung in Ionen zerfällt; ein Elektrolyt-Zufuhrrohr (50) zur Zufuhr des Elektrolyts (5) auf das flächige Element; und eine Elektrode (70), die dem flächigen Element (55) zugewandt ist. Das Elektrolyt-Zufuhrrohr (50) und die Elektrode (70) sind derart ausgestaltet, dass zwischen ihnen eine elektrische Spannung anlegbar ist, um zwischen Elektrode (70) und Elektrolyt (8) ein Plasma zu bilden, wodurch das Brenngas (7) erzeugt wird. Das von der Vorrichtung (1; 2; 3) erzeugte Brenngas (4) enthält Wasserstoff (H2), Kohlenmonoxid (CO) und/oder gasförmige Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie beispielsweise Methan (CH4).

A device (1; 2; 3, 4) and a method for generating combustible gas (7) and also an electrolyte (8) therefor are provided. The device (1; 2; 3, 4) comprises a flat element (55) for receiving an electrolyte (8) of carbon (C) and water (H2O), to which, optionally, in addition, there is further added a conductive compound which decomposes into ions in aqueous solution; an electrolyte feed tube (50) for feed of the electrolyte (5) onto the flat element; and an electrode (70) which is facing towards the flat element (55). The electrolyte feed tube (50) and the electrode (70) are configured in such a manner that between them an electrical voltage can be applied in order to form a plasma between electrode (70) and electrolyte (8), whereby the combustible gas (7) is generated. The combustible gas (4) generated by the device (1; 2; 3) contains hydrogen (H2), carbon monoxide (CO) and/or gaseous hydrocarbons, such as methane (CH4) for example.
