A method for providing a network service of a cellular communication network covering a geographical area for a plurality of mobile terminals, the method comprising: defining a grid covering at least a part of the geographical area with grid fields, framed by grid lines and spaced by a grid spacing; providing grid information comprising reference point information and information on said grid spacing, generating crossing information in response to one of the plurality of mobile terminals crossing one grid line, based on said grid information and on position information of the at least one mobile terminal, and keeping grid field information for at least one grid field comprising identification information of the one mobile terminal when inside the one grid field based on said crossing information.

L'invention concerne un procédé destiné à assurer un service de réseau au sein d'un réseau de communication cellulaire couvrant une zone géographique pour une pluralité de terminaux mobiles. Le procédé comprend les opérations consistant à : définir une grille conçue pour couvrir une partie au moins de la zone géographique avec des champs de grille, lesquels sont encadrés par des lignes de grille et séparés par un espacement de grille; fournir des informations de grille englobant des informations relatives aux points de référence et des informations au sujet dudit espacement de grille; générer des informations de transit dès qu'un terminal mobile de la pluralité de terminaux mobiles traverse une ligne de grille, sur la base desdites informations de grille et sur les informations de position dudit au moins un terminal mobile; et conserver les informations de champ de grille relatives à au moins un champ de grille englobant les informations d'identification dudit terminal mobile lorsque celui-ci se trouve à l'intérieur dudit champ de grille, sur la base desdites informations de transit.
