Abstract

A method of beneficiation of phosphate from a phosphate ore comprising: providing an aqueous slurry of phosphate ore in particulate form for conditioning comprising at least 60% by weight solids; conditioning the aqueous slurry by contacting the aqueous slurry with at least one conditioning agent selected from fatty acids and salts thereof and at least one hydrocarbon; diluting the conditioned slurry to provide a solids content of no more than 35% by weight; subjecting the diluted slurry to froth flotation comprising combining a pressurized stream of diluted slurry with air in a downcomer to form a foam comprising a dispersed air phase and introducing a downward stream of the foam into a flotation chamber comprising liquid below a surface of the liquid to form a floated froth; and collecting the floated froth to provide a solid enriched in phosphate.

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé d'enrichissement de phosphate à partir d'un minerai de phosphate comprenant les étapes consistant à : utiliser une suspension aqueuse de minerai de phosphate sous forme particulaire en vue d'un conditionnement comprenant au moins 60 % en poids de solides ; conditionner la suspension aqueuse par la mise en contact de la suspension aqueuse avec au moins un agent de conditionnement choisi parmi des acides gras et des sels de ceux-ci et au moins un hydrocarbure ; diluer la suspension conditionnée pour obtenir une teneur en solides ne dépassant pas 35 % en poids ; soumettre la suspension diluée à une flottation par moussage comprenant la combinaison d'un flux sous pression de suspension diluée avec de l'air dans une goulotte de descente afin de former une mousse comprenant une phase d'air dispersée et l'introduction d'un flux descendant de la mousse dans une chambre de flottation comprenant du liquide sous une surface du liquide pour former une mousse flottée ; et collecter la mousse flottée pour obtenir un solide enrichi en phosphate.
