(EN)A method that allows for rapid inter base station handoffs in IP based wireless networks is disclosed. More specifically a technique to address the problem of accurate location management during rapid handoff across multiple base stations is described in this invention disclosure. The idea proposed uses a combination of Timestamp and Sequence number along with a message exchange protocol over the network to maintain the registration with only a single base station at any point of time.
(FR)L'invention porte sur un procédé qui permet d'effectuer des transferts intercellulaires rapides entre des stations de base dans des réseaux sans fil IP. Plus précisément, l'invention porte sur une technique pour traiter le problème de gestion de l'emplacement précis durant un transfert intercellulaire rapide entre de multiples stations de base. L'invention concerne l'utilisation d'une combinaison d'horodatage et de numéro de séquence conjointement avec un protocole d'échange de messages sur le réseau pour maintenir l'enregistrement à l'aide seulement d'une station de base à n'importe quel instant.
